A quick mock-up just because I thought this pic needed to be an old noir novel cover. :)

Take a drink because you pity yourself, and then the drink pities you and has a drink, and then two good drinks get together and that calls for drinks all around.

As an artist, should you try and incorporate complementary skills into your repertoire or work on building and nurturing a very specific skill-set?
Focus and specialize.

Take Batman as an example. We all know Batman’s story. His parents were gunned down in his youth, leading him to dedicate his life to battling crime. He lives a double-life, has a cave full of cars, planes, computers and gadgetry and battles a colorful rogues’ gallery.
But to me, none of that is what makes Batman so interesting. What makes him such a compelling character is his single-minded focus on one goal: ridding Gotham City of crime.

Throughout the comics, he continually shrugs off distractions like running Wayne Enterprises, romantic interests and any semblance of a normal life. Batman is a success at what he does because of his absolute focus.

“Consume Less, Create More” by Brett Oblack

I found this page interesting. Plus, it has Batman. And we all know Batman is the shit.

Animated GIF of the Day: The first 10 pages of Avery Monsen and Jory John’s marvelously morbid book, All My Friends Are Dead.
This is less about the GIF (as glorious as it is), and more about being a part of history as this well-traveled post inevitably becomes the most note-able thing on Tumblr.
